Wow, it's been a while. I have decided to come back to this...My life has come to a stand still and I am trying to improve it and make more changes in it.
My mental health has mostly been okay. I guess the thing regarding that that I am most proud of would be getting off of some meds. I have been able to come off 3 meds altogether, while still taking the ones that keep me balanced. I have had to adjust one medication very recently and now my mental state is more stable.
Anyway, I have chosen to come back to this, because it's a way of getting my thoughts out, and possibly help someone out at the same time. 2 birds one stone sorta thing. aha!
The last time I was here I was talking about Depression. I have started reading a book a while ago called 'The Depression Cure' by Stephen S. Ilardi PhD. A couple points it made, that were useful to me, were about vitamin D and light. One of the greatest things that have helped was getting a sun lamp. I highly recommend you get this, especially during the cold and dark months. Very important to me, and hopefully to you. Now that it is summer, though, it's not that important I suppose.
The other thing that has helped is fish oil. I have taken fish oil before, but didn't realize that the EPA and DHA was very important, so it's important you look at the back of your omega 3 bottle. I believe the number is 1000mg of EPA and 500mg of DHA is a helpful starting dose! I take bigger doses than this, but it's helpful nonetheless. It will probably say "extra strength" on the bottle.
